Don't Miss " But... It's Christmas Carol!"
This year's original Christmas Comedy Play
Inspired by Acts 3:19, the writers searched for a way to illustrate the importance of repentance and no Christmas story tells it better than that Dicken’s classic: “A Christmas Carol.” Of course, the writes had to give the tale a little “Christian Twist and a few quirks as well.”
In act 1 we meet the Bucksnots in their country family store. They’re waiting for their daughter Carol’s return after being away 6 years in a big city college. To their dismay, the big city ways Carol learned in school are quite contrary to her Christian and country upbringing. In an answer to prayer, Carol is visited by her guardian angel, who can only be seen and heard by Carol (and of course, the audience)
In act 2, Mom & Pop give Carol control of the store but the changes Carol makes do more harm than good to the store and the community that shops, barters and trades there. The angel tries patiently to open Carol’s eyes to the mistakes she’s making but Carol refuses to listen.
In act 3, the angel gives Carol a dose of her own medicine. Carol arrives at the store the next morning and no one knows her. Worse yet, her family is now acting like Carol, they are rude, obsessed with money and have turned from God. “Is this just a foreshadowing of how things might be, or is this the way they will always be?”
It is our hope that our humble little play will show everyone that no matter how far we might stray, our Heavenly Father longs for us to return to Him.
